I fish a lot of small to medium sized lakes in Michigan. If you can see the tops of the weeds, I'd try to set a large shiner about a foot above them. If not, start from the top and work your depth down. I use a single triple 00 hook hooked between the dorsal fin and tail. Give him time to swallow the bait!Good Luck.
