This is a very good tip, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems you are fishing lakes. I do alot of pike fishing in back bays of big fast moving rivers, and utilizing stucture as listed above, except that in rivers, pike will frequent much shallower water than in lakes, 3 to 5 feet of water is plenty at first ice, and at last ice we caught them in as little as 2 feet of water under the ice. I do alot of fishing in Quebec where live minnows are illegal, but have great success using frozen smelt, cisco, even saltwater herring and mackeral. |
