I've got one of the green/white, but prefer the Abu Garcia C4 black with skirted spool to actually fish with. Have 4 of those and found a like new C3 at antique store for 6$...best find ever for me...lol.

The first Cardinal spinning reels, all the rage back in the 60s. Some even had the Zebco brand on 'em but were made by ABU. All were a dark green with a pale green spool shroud IIRC with a rear drag.

Dad had three I think. Now they're mine. Used to be able to buy 'em at the Holiday gas stations (world's first c-stores). Lemme see if I can find 'em.

Oh yeah, another Eage Claw rod was my go-to for years, the BE204.  In 4 ft 6 in for me.  Was sad when they quit making that.

I've used the same Cardinal 3 for over nearly 50 years.  I've got a second one and wish I had two more.
Ithaca field grade model 100 by SKB. Simple solid and locked up tight and generally pointed where I was
loooking

Any of literally dozens of mom and pop baitshops in Indiana alone.  No doubt thousands accross the US and Canada.  I have to drive further to get minnows than I do to go fishing.

And uh, oh yeah --Central Indiana hasn't had 30 days of good ice in over 10 years

Like any other great Cabela's branded product, these have been discontinued, at least in the US.  Apparently, you can still get them in Canada.

If it was redeveloped for ice fishing, it would make for the most useful feature on an ice fishing bait casting reel.  That and put together a lightweight spool just for ice fishing line.

i just dug out my coleman focus 5 heater to use this year to save weight over the buddy heater.plus my buddy heater dont light all the time.whats the runtime on low for a 1lb tank with a focus 5?

The very old Avid Ice Rods.  Those were the Premier with reel seats basically.  Took a long time for St Croix to bring that back and then poof gone again.  Replaced by Mojo Ice.  So $20 for Premier, $30 for Avid, then $50 for Mojo as replacement.

I don't like the handles on the Mojo rods. Bring back the premier!
