Is loon worth fishing? And I’ve never had luck with the finger lakes. Any of them.

loon lake is usually the first lake in that area to freeze over. you can catch perch, bass, and pickerel. once the surrounding lakes freeze canadice, Honeoye ,conesus etc. most guys leave loon behind. loon lake is fun early ice if nothing else just to get out and ease the itch hehe.
if it ain't broke don't fix it

Thing is a buddy of mine lives in canasserega. And trying to find close places cuz he says honeyoye is to far a drive. He mentioned loon and silver, I don’t know about Cuba or rushford lakes herd they are resivores and the water level fluctuates severely making the ice very icy at times.  My target species is more or less any good eating fish. Perch is not top of the list tho I can always pound them big perch outa the big lake here on sodus bay. I’m just looking for options down that way. Thanks guys

Loon stinks dink perch.

Loon has 1 perch and like 50000000 weeds. We fished for 8 hours one day caught 1 7-9 inch perch
If you sit around all day and do nothing your a bum, but if you sit in a boat all day or in a shanty and do nothing they call you a fisherman

I have a buddy lives in Olean, NY.
We used to meet up at Quaker lake in the Alleghany park. Good parking and access to the lake and some decent fishing.
Not many bait options nearby so bring your bait with you.
Good luck and chase those flags.
Mandor!
