This is the big year...the 2019 2020 year...

I got four Thorne Bros rods added...well two are still being built.
Fenwich Techna AV 28" ML
Elliot Rod Siscowett Bait casting 46" (labeled as 44")
A whole bunch of other lures...to try.
A few more lithium batteries...going the hand drill auger route...and led work lights.
Two of the discontinued Shimano Curado 70HG bait casting reels...sale price too good to pass up.
I forget the rest of other stuff...

Usually get one new TUCR rod every and some tackle but changed up this year and ended up getting the clam nanook xl, a transducer and lithium battery for my new helix 9 I usually have on my boat (still backup to the lx5) and a some tackle...especially plastics.  13 fishing looks like they have some nice ones.

I’ve gotten a pair of tuned up rods, a pile of tackle, a jason Mitchell nanook xl on order now, a few reels, and a lithium battery. Who knows what else I’ll sneak past the wife.  :o

I just picked up my second set of Thorne Bros Ice rods.  A Perch Sweetheart and Panfish Sweetheart.  Basically a remake of the one's I've ordered but tweaked a bit more tailored to a bait casting set up.

Now the rod itself may have a little bit more weight in terms of feel, just due to the extra line guides.  The best thing about these Thorne Bros Sweetheart rod blanks is their ability to resist torsion.  Even as I slightly twist the rod with line and load flex on it, the entire blank doesn't twist.  It is just that one feature that is unnamed and unknown to the these rods.  As with my opinion, the rods themselves do not appear all that impressive, not even in terms of flex.  However in real world application while jigging and fighting fish, these rods has always have that special edge over that of other rods.  The word is control.  It's that edge in terms of control. The original premium ice rods as I have sort of coined it to be.

As with customization, it's hard to figure out until one uses and figures out exactly what one is looking for.  I'm almost tempted to have another set of Walleye Sweetheart remade.

Santa brought me a 23" UL Tickle stick, an Okuma Ceymer C-10 reel and a Clam towing harness for my flip over shanty.  I'm seriously thinking about the 8" Strikemaster Lite flight.  It's hard to pull the trigger when I already have an old (1995) 7" Lazer Mag gas auger, a newer (2014) 8" Jiffy Pro4 Lite auger and a (2017) Milwaukee M18 drill w/ Clam plate and 7" lazer blade.  Over the years the technology has been changing as have my ice fishing drilling preferences.

Ion 40v 3amp 8". Got to use it twice before the warm weather blew in. Light weight and easy to operate. I'm pleased with my purchase. Also bought an Otter medium sports sled for those days that I don't want or need to take my Recon.

I got some Eskimo Keeper bibs, and going to get a new walleye rod set up here soon.

Old boots are getting clapped out, so I'll probably get a new pair soon. Hard to find size 15 though.

What made you choose the Widow Maker over the other 13 rod options? That’s more of a feel rod correct?

I got a lightly used Helix 5 with the ice setup, and an Okuma Avenger.

Since I splurged on the finder, it rained profusely here today and the ice is now shot.  Arrrgghh!

My wife got me an 8" jiffy lightning electric auger. Man it is nice chews through ice with no letdown. It is light and easy to use. Looking forward to using it for years to come. Anyone have any thoughts on it. Good luck to all this season.

Finally broken down and bought the ice ducer, power cord and adapter cable for my garmin

Didnt really need anything else.
